Absent Friends is the first Bracken Company of Archers open shoot of the year.
Having been around for nearly 50 years, many archers from our club and others with whom we regularly meet have come and gone, and its at this shoot we take a moment to stand in silent tribute to those we knew but see no more.
This year we're pleased to introduce a Novice Category, welcoming newer archers to take part and share in the spirit of the shoot.
It is a poignant and thoughtful remembrance in an otherwise busy day.
£10 Seniors, £5 Under 18's.
28th June 2026 - Summer Shoot: WA70/WA50 & 122-50/40/30.
Novice Category: WA30
The Summer Shoot is our open competition when we shoot the standard Olympic distance.
Come along and test yourself against your fellow archers!
This year we are pleased to introduce a Novice Category, inviting newer archers to get involved and enjoy friendly competition with their fellow archers.
£10 Seniors, £5 Under 18's.
15th August 2026 - 50th Anniversary Triple Shoot
Join us in celebrating half a century of the Bracken Company of Archers bringing people together on the shooting line.
To mark the occasion we're hosting a very special Triple Shoot; a Bray II, 12 marked distance 3D targets and finishing up with a classic wand shoot. It promises a full day of variety, friendly rivaly and a chance to be part of the clubs history.
Maximum of 48 Spaces
£15 Seniors, £10 for Under 18's.
20th September 2026 - MacMillan Local Charity Shoot (Long Metric I-V rounds)
Novice Category: Long Metric V
The Macmillan Shoot is your chance to join us in giving back to the community from which are club is drawn.
All the proceeds of the day are donated to the Macmillan Local Charity, so even if you have one of those days when you couldn’t hit a barn door at twenty paces, you can go home feeling good about yourself.
This year we're also welcoming newer archers with the addition of a Novice Category, encouraging everyone to take part in support of a great cause.
